Uhuru Furniture is an economic development project of APEDF organizing to end the grave disparities the black community faces in health, education and basic human rights. APEDF works for real change by supporting projects such as the African Village Survival Initiative (AVSI) . AVSI is setting up a network of collective community gardens and economic development projects including a licensed community kitchen to support the creation of independent food businesses and a state of the art recording studio so independent African artists and produce and benefit from their own music.
