Call to Buy

Thank you for shopping at Uhuru Furniture, where the proceeds from your purchase support the African economic development and self-determination programs of the African People's Education and Defense Fund (APEDF.org)

Can I buy an item by phone?

Yes! Call 215-546-9616 ext. 2 to pay by phone with your credit or debit card.

ALL sales are FINAL and sold AS IS.

How does the sale by phone work?

We always provide measurements and try to be as helpful as possible. Feel free to ask us any questions before your purchase.

Phone sales are PURCHASES, not HOLDS, and ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

Everything you see on the blog and on Instagram can be viewed in person at Uhuru Furniture before you buy it. We always strongly suggest that you view the item(s) in person before you buy. You can call us and request a 1-hour hold so you can see it for yourself before you purchase.

How long do I have to pick up an item that I bought?

After you buy, we will hold your item for up to 48 hours in the store, or arrange a delivery appointment within the same time period not counting Mondays when we are closed. For example, if you purchase an item on Saturday, it must be picked up or delivered no later than the following Tuesday.

If you do not pick up or have your items delivered within that time frame, you must request an extension, or you will be issued a store credit, and the item will be returned to the sales floor. After the original 48 hours, $10 per piece per day will be charged for storage.

Please note, store credits must be picked up at Uhuru Furniture 832 N. Broad St. Tues-Sun 11am-6pm.

Do you deliver?

UFC offers same day or next day delivery for a reasonable fee and offers a 1-2 hour appointment window. Your delivery will be scheduled during the phone call when you purchase your item.

What happens if an item does not fit in my apartment or if it is damaged during a move?

You are responsible to measure to make sure the piece will fit. If an item does not fit, you can return it for store credit, but not a refund. If you schedule a delivery through Uhuru and the item does not fit, you will get a store credit for the item, but you will still have to pay for the delivery because the team did the work.

If you move the item yourself and it does not fit, it must be returned in the same condition as it left the store. If the furniture has been damaged by you or your movers, this contract is void.

If the Uhuru moving team or an independent contractor contacted directly by Uhuru Furniture damages an item, that team is responsible.

If you decide you do not want the item you purchased before it leaves the store, we will issue you store credit, not a refund.

Can I sell to Uhuru Furniture? What about donations?
